Ruth Stevens
Morale Booster and Very Good Girl
Ruth Stevens, MCE (Master's in Canine Entitlement), graduated from the K9 obedience school of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in 2021, with a diploma in basic obedience. She considers herself to be too dignified, inherently slothful, and otherwise perfect in all ways to pursue further education, drawing instead on her natural capacities for soliciting affection and treats from all who encounter her. Ruth’s responsibilities in the Honors College include napping on the comfy chair in Dr. Stevens’s office, holding occasional office hours for students missing their own dogs, rolling on her back on Cater Lawn, patrolling Cater Hall from the encroachments of the local squirrel population and occasionally chasing said squirrels in the upper quad. She also works as teaching assistant for Dr. Stevens’s Book Club, HONR. 2087, “Reading about Dogs, with a Dog.”
