Lydia Avant
Marketing and Communications Intern
Lydia Avant is the student assistant for marketing and communications at the Honors College, where she supports strategic efforts to share the college’s mission, events and achievements. A senior majoring in public relations with a minor in music business, Avant brings a passion for storytelling, community engagement and creative communication to this position.
Originally from McCalla, Alabama, she has held leadership positions in the National Pan-Hellenic Council and Black Student Union and has served as a photographer for the Glomerata and the Plainsman. Avant hopes to pursue a career in sports and entertainment after graduation, combining her communications background with her passion for storytelling and creative media.
Outside of class or work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and lounging with her teacup yorkie, Diva.
