Bren Wells
My name is Bren Wells and I am from Red Bay, Alabama. Coming from a small rural town and making the transition to a large campus like Auburn’s was difficult for me. Having the support of Honors College through it all has been an invaluable experience. Honors College has given me many opportunities to know my peers, develop my leadership, and give back to my community, from smaller class sizes to their many events and organizations.
Carson Kim
My name is Carson Kim, and I am from Gardendale, AL. In my free time, I enjoy working out, playing music, and hanging out with friends. Making the shift from high school to college can be an extremely scary and stressful time. However, the Auburn Family and the Honors College have made this transition a terrifically enjoyable one. With Auburn being as diverse as it is, there is a close-knit and inclusive community for all. And the Honors College has helped me find these communities for me to plug into including Honors Serves, Honors Congress, Emerge, and Auburn Tooth Fairy. Not to mention the incredible academic opportunities the Honors College offers! War Eagle!
Brooke Tilghman
My Name is Brooke Tilghman and I am from Centennial, Colorado. Being from far out of state, I understood the value of getting involved on Auburn’s campus early on, and am apart of many organizations such as Greek Life, Emerge, Honors Congress, and Honors Serves, among others. I was fortunate enough to live in the Quad Honors dorm my freshman year which was one of my biggest blessings coming in to college. Living among Honors peers allowed me to be in a close, inimate environment and truly get to know my peers. I found some of my best friends through living in the Honors dorm and was able to form a strong sense of community early on in college. Outside of dorm living, I love the opportunities that the Honors College supports and provides, whether it is smaller class sizes or social and educational events put on by advisors and professors. Being in the Honors College at Auburn and all of its opportunities was a game changer in my college decision process, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Avery Bates
I always say how joining the Honors College has been the best decision of my college career. I have been blessed with so many amazing friends and opportunities through the Honors College that I would not have gotten otherwise. My freshmen year I was able to live in Honors housing, and I met some of my best friends who I still keep up with today. Also, living in a community of honors kids allowed me to stay focused on my studies as I was surrounded by like minded individuals. I was also able to participate in the Honors College Week of Service as a participant, and later a counselor and head counselor, which was such a beautiful program that has defined my college experience. There are just so many beautiful things in the Honors College that have benefitted me that I could go on for days about.
Victoria Ashley
As a member of a military family with parents from upstate New York, I did not grow up saying “War Eagle.” However, when it came time to apply to college, after visiting Cater Hall and speaking with Honors students and staff, the opportunity to be involved with the Honors College at Auburn University became a huge part of my decision to attend this school. As a student, the Honors College has provided me with some of my most outstanding college memories thus far. Traveling for the first time to new parts of the world in my Honors Study and Travel classes and building houses with Habitat for Humanity on Honors Spring Break service trips have given me special opportunities to grow as a student, leader, and person in countless ways. The Honors College has also greatly defined my sense of community at Auburn through the friendships I have developed both in Honors classes and as a member of the Honors Congress. I am so grateful to have the privilege of introducing new students and families to the countless benefits that come with “Honoring your Dreams” at Auburn University!
James Conway
Hi my name is James Conway and I am from Opelika, about 20 minutes from campus. I am a Biomedical Sciences Major in COSAM. I enjoy playing late-night pickleball with my friends and going to Guthrie’s after every home football game. I also love working out at the rec and anything that has to do with the outdoors. The Honors College at Auburn has opened up so many doors for me in just my first year including friendships, academics and even professional opportunities. It has definitely been the best decision I made during my freshman year and getting involved gives you even more opportunities. I can’t wait to meet with you and hopefully share a little bit of that experience. If you have any questions about the Honors College, Pre-Med life or Auburn in general please do not hesitate to reach out! War Eagle!!!
Meredith Almy
Hi! My name is Meredith Almy and I am from Dallas, Texas! Being from out of state, I was searching for a place that felt like home, and in Auburn and the Honors College, I have found all that I was looking for and more! I was given the advice to “do anything to make the campus feel smaller,” and the Honors College provided a close-knit community of like-minded people who quickly became my friends! Not only has the Honors College helped me flourish academically, but it has introduced me to new passions that have opened doors to so many new friends and memories! Through the Honors College, I have been able to travel to Costa Rica to assist in small animal surgery, have begun my own pharmaceutical research project, and have presented posters, written publications, and even spoke at a seminar in Canada! The Honors College is truly a gift, and I can’t wait to share with you all that it has to offer!
Outside of Honors, I am involved with the Auburn String Orchestra, Auburn Catholic Campus ministry, Tri Delta, and the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association.
Olivia Bellini
Hey guys! My name is Olivia Bellini, and I am from just south of Nashville, TN. Outside of classes, I love to read and bake, and I also grew up dancing! For me, joining the Honors College was an easy decision, but I had no idea the impact it would have on my life after just one year. I was able to meet so many people and form meaningful relationships with not only peers, but also mentors and professors. The Honors College here at Auburn is so special because it’s a small family inside a large student population that offers countless additional experiences and deeper relationships. I’m so excited to share my love for the Honors College with y’all!
Madeleine Cargile
Hi! My name is Madeleine Cargile and I’m from Chelsea, a small town right outside of Birmingham, AL. I was first introduced to the Honors College through Week of Service and living in the honors dorm in the Quad my freshman year. It was so lovely to get the chance to form such strong friendships with so many motivated and like-minded peers. I am so excited to serve as an Honors Ambassador and promote the amazing experiences I’ve had in Honors! Outside of the Honors College, I also work as an RA and am a member of the sorority Tri Sigma.
Thomas Foster
My name is Thomas Foster and I am from Beulah, AL. Transitioning from a rural hometown to Auburn’s campus was quite a change. I did not know it at the time, but my decision to join the Honors College made this huge university feel smaller and more approachable. Thanks to the Honors College, I have formed valuable relationships with both my peers and professors. Additionally, the Honors College has provided me with smaller class sizes and access to various organizations that have enhanced the sense of community that I deeply cherish. Outside of Honors, I love being involved at my church, participating in intramural sports, and playing disc golf! War Eagle!!
Ellie Morgan
Hi everyone! My name is Ellie Morgan, and I am so excited and grateful to serve as an Honors Ambassador. I first got involved with Honors by living in the Honors Dorm in the Quad my Freshman year. Having this community at my doorstep made my transition to college that much easier. Since then, I have become an Honors Mentor, Peer Instructor, and currently serve as the Involvement Director for Honors Congress. Each of these opportunities have allowed me to learn, grow, and connect with the Honors community surrounding me. Joining the Honors College was absolutely the best decision I made in coming to Auburn, and it has shaped my college experience in the most fulfilling way. Outside of Honors, I enjoy playing intramural sports, cooking, traveling, and being a Diamond Doll for Auburn’s Baseball team. War Eagle!
