Washington, D.C.
Visit “The District” and get up close and personal with politics. During this trip, participants will speak with current and former officials from Congress, the Department of Justice, the U.S. military, the Embassy of the United Kingdom, and the private sector. There will also be ample opportunity to explore the museums and cultural opportunities that the nation’s capital has to offer!

Alaska
This course will explore the state of Alaska in an interdisciplinary framework. Students will learn about the state’s history, geography, industries and cultural influences while experiencing firsthand the wonders that make this region unique.

New York
See the “Big Apple” through the world of theatre. As part of this course, you will have a quintessential tour New York City. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of a theatre and enjoy the iconic NYC sites, shopping, and street food.

Hawaii
The course will meet weekly for one hour in preparation for a two-week trip to the islands of Kauai, Hawaii, and Oahu either at the end of spring semester (approximately May 4-18) or around spring break. Students will interact with local, state and federal agency as well as university and NGO personnel that work in management, research and policy. On each island we will see ongoing efforts to manage invasive and endangered species as well as general conservation issues.
Prerequisites: General Ecology, Wildlife Ecology, Conservation, and Management, Forest Ecology, or Conservation Biology or consent of instructor.

South Africa
This course will explore the functions of higher education and student affairs on a local and global scale. Each week you will learn about a topic related to higher education, culminating in a trip to South Africa. There you will be given the opportunity to compare and contrast selected components of higher education while exploring the diverse cultures and natural wonders of the area.

Edinburgh and London
While there you can explore a Scottish castle, shop the Royal Mile, walk the streets of Old Town and more! Enjoy excursions to Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle and the Kelpies. See sites such as Covent Garden, St Paul’s Cathedral and Big Ben. As well as day excursions to Stonehenge and a nearby country village.
