News You Should Know

Entrance to the Honors Student Center

It has come to our attention that many students are having a difficult time gaing access to the Honors Student Center located in the Broun Residence Hall basement. Students who do not live in Broun Hall must use the back basement door closest to Mell Street. This door opening directly into the dining and kitchen space in the student center. If you are continuing to have trouble with access using your id, please contact our offices.

Other Opportunities

Become a Tiger Tutor with SASS

Student Athlete Support Services (SASS) is still in need of student tutors for Fall 2023. Below is a list of courses we have had an influx of requests for and are in need of additional tutors.

Tiger Tutors have the flexibility to set their own work hours and manage their schedule. Sessions are held in-person at our building, Lowder Student-Athlete Development Center (SADC). Typical sessions are one hour and meet 1-2 times per week, most are on a regular weekly schedule. Peak meeting times with our student are typically during these times: 8AM-1PM and 5PM-9PM. Availability with Tiger Tutors would be needed during some of these blocks of time. Tiger Tutors are paid an hourly rate, starting undergraduate student rates at $12/hour, but varies based on education level and experience.
