Get Excited - it's Happening! The RBD Study Room is Under Renovation

You asked for it and it's time for us to the deliver. The RBD study room will be undergoing renovation beginning this Friday. The process will take a few weeks, but we hope the majority will be completed during spring break. Check back here or on social media for updates on opening dates.

Become a Fall 2024 Peer Academic Coach

 
HONR 3007-007 – 3 credit hours

Academic coaches provide tutoring and mentoring to fellow Honors students in a variety of subject-specific courses. Students in the course are responsible for hosting weekly coaching sessions (3 hours per week) and should be prepared to help students in their given subjects by reviewing the course material, preparing additional study materials, and serving as a mentor for Honors students attending sessions.

Embodying the best the Honors College has to offer, these Honors students are chosen to represent the college through numerous recruitment events, as well as to help prospective students with any questions they may have concerning the Honors College. Applications are open March 4 - March 24.

HONR 1077 Peer Instructor Applications for Fall 2024 Open March 1

Interested in giving back to our incoming class of Honors students? Apply to be a Freshman Exploration Peer Instructor!

Peer Instructors are an integral part of class, helping students navigate their first year in Auburn and in Honors. They provide an informed voice, serving as representatives of the Honors student experience. The responsibilities of a Peer Instructor include but are not limited to: attending class, attending meetings with their instructor, co-facilitating classroom discussions, communicating with students, and representing Honors through an upperclassman perspective.
 
Honors Peer Instructor positions are available to students who are in good standing, currently enrolled in the Honors College, and who have successfully taken Honors Freshman Exploration (HONR 1077).
 
Peer Instructors will be enrolled in an Honors Lyceum course and receive credit for their experience.

Applications close April 5th at NOON.

Cater Talk: Elijah Gaddis - Poolhalls and Protests: Doing Local African American History

Cater Talks allow Honors students to connect with guest speakers in an informal and personable way. This month we are excited to have Elijah Gaddis, the Hollifield Associate Professor of Southern History, the co-director of Public History, and an affiliate faculty in Africana Studies at Auburn University. The title of his Cater Talk is “Poolhalls and Protests: Doing Local African American History.”

Join us on February 21 at 2 pm at Cater Hall as we welcome Dr. Gaddis and celebrate Black History Month.

Please join us on March 21 at 1 pm for an interactive Group Presentation Session (GPS) to learn about opportunities for U.S. citizens to pursue graduate or professional study, conduct research, or teach English. During the session, you will find out about the types of Fulbright awards, application components, tips, and get your questions answered.

Each spring, the Honors College looks forward to celebrating and honoring our hard-working students, faculty, staff, volunteers, and alumni. The Eagles of Excellence Awards seek to recognize those who have gone above and beyond, in the Honors College and at Auburn University, in the realms of leadership, research, service, and teaching.

Summer Program to India

Our Honors Research Seminar professor, Dr. Muralikrishnan Dhanasekaran, is leading a summer program to India. This study abroad program will be focused on preparing our AU undergraduate students efficiently for the pursuit of a professional degree (M.D., D.O., DDS, PA., Pharm.D.), Graduate studies, or a career in areas of the pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical, Healthcare, naturopathy, biotechnology industry.
